This is my final post here.

I've reached the point where I've made a decision to move on to newer pastures because I've become sick of the e-wang mentality that seems to have developed in certain members.

For those of you that enjoy a laugh and don't take life so seriously keep on laughing.

For those of you that are nothing but keyboard warriors at every opportunity I hope you get arthritis in your fingers and that you get hemaroides(sp?) for sitting at your keyboards all day making petty arguements and personal attacks. Your postings really drag the atmosphere of this great Commodore forum downhill and are making it it such a drudgery to read through any topic. People ask simple questions expecting simple answers but I've noticed a certain few just like to bombard topics from an e-wang perspective, seeming to think they know it all and in fact are of no help to the thread starter.

For all those that gave me genuine advice to issues I've had I am grateful for you having helped me with my life.

    Later everyone.

Mods/Admin you can wipe my username and my posts if you wish.

Why not simply skip over the e-wang posts or ignore the user(s) through your user control panel?

I am not sure if you frequent other forums, but this is life on the net.

There will always be those that stir the pot, argue the point or just post inane dribble.

Some forums are worse than others. Even boostcruising isn't like it is here sometimes. They might give each other crap there but it is forgotten pretty quickly. And there is a difference between having a crack at someone and constantly big-noting yourself. There are a few members here that feel the need to tell the whole community just how good they think they are. I bet I'm referring to the same people as the OP as well. Sure you can ignore them but it reaches the point when you just wish they would either STFU or simply **** off!

You can criticize someone constructively without being a condescending a$$hole or a self-righteous know it all. As previously mentioned, it is a bloody internet forum. Pretty much why I stay out of most threads regarding politics, money or social issues. Too much tit for tat garbage.

On the other hand there are some pretty decent people on here as well. 1991_vn2nv comes to mind. Think his name is Dylan but I'm sure you all know who I'm talking about. Probably the most level headed bloke on here. Always informative and nearly always respectful in whatever he posts, even when someone is clearly having a crack at him.

I see these types of posts all the time. I never figured you'd be one to give in six. Gets worse around the school holidays....

Although, we seem to have a few members that know alot about everything, not much you can do about them.

Ive noticed the petty bitching and attacks lately to. I havent been in the middle of them myself, but it is getting frustrating to see the same people constantly upsetting members, when their posts are not even informative. I think JC needs to think about banning some of these members on the percentage of what the contribute positivly and what the contribute negativly, this isnt just members but some moderators. Im not saying the moderators do a bad job, I think they do a great job, but some moderators are also involved in this constant bitching.
Its the internet you get ********s, I accept that, but after the last month this certain group of people have ruined for me, and I dare say alot more users. I dont read as many threads anymore, because you get 3 or 4 posts down and this group has destroyed the thread with their so high opinion and no one else can say anything or they get treated like ****. This is not good for JC as it will lose alot of members if this group keeps carrying on the way they are.
Also one thing I've noticed, If you have an argument in one thread, you leave it in that thread. I've argued points across in one thread with one person, and helped them in the next. You dont carry an argument into a new thread, you forget it and focus on that thread. BUT again this certain group of people have been using previous threads to attack a person in a compleltly new and irrelevant thread.

It's not good to see sixshooter leave, but hopefully it will waken up JC to do something about this certain group, or atleast get this certain group to pull their heads in, which I highly doubt cause they are so far opinionated(If you can call it an opinion, they seem to think "Gospel") for their own good.

I won't get too into this, from an admin / mod point of view as we know what value members have to a site.

There is a solution to this problem, bring these posts to our attention!! We like everyone else work during the day and go through pages upon pages in the morning, night or whatever other time is available to us, we can't see everything.

Above every single post you will find the humble icon [IMG] if used correctly you can help combat these 'keyboard warriors' and during school holidays little keyboard warriors.

Geez it's school holidays coming up again isn't it :bang:

PM me examples of where arguments are carrying into other threads please. Actually send me a PM about every issue you have. Things will be changing. Trust me on that. Even my own attitude will have to adjust.

shooter, don't go, i enjoyed headbutting with you.

Hmm, maybe charge a small fee for joining just commodore :p.

I know Streetwagons charge a once of fee of like $15... Ive paid i. Would help with the upkeep of the site and stop the idiots from joining....

Its a real shame to see someone with as much experience and knowledge as sixshooter leave....

I was the same a while ago with Whirlpool Internet Forums... Nearly 6000 posts helping people, always giving constructive meaningful posts, but after a while of the young kids around you just tire from it.

Cant say I blame ya mate. Post anything in the pub section these days and there is bound to be someone who wants to start a **** fight. That drinking under the age of 25 thread is a prime example. The tech threads are normally alright tho.

    PS All the best

    Understandable!

C-Ya Mate, Take care and Thanks for all the shared knowledge and advice, not to mention a good laugh.....

I do have to admit, I don't get on here much anymore, But it is a good Forum, and there are some great knowledgeable people who are happy to share what they know when needed.

I have to Disagree with the Statement that all Forum's are like this one, as I am a member of two others that don't have any of this crap, and all members are respectfull and polite.

Sadly the word Commodore does attract Tool's, so for all you Tool's out there, Thanks for changing this enjoyable Friendship constructing, Learning accessory, into an un-enjoyable Site full of Critisism and patronising Not to mention the way you all Gang up on, and Frustrate some of the better people on here!!

I will stay, but learn to ignore and type carefully, just to stop me having to Wring some of your Necks!

It is good to see the moderators taking notice of this. I'll be the first to admit that I've lost the plot a couple of times through sheer frustration and ripped in to a couple of members. (One of them was a moderator which earned me an infraction!)

But I knew I'd stepped out of line and offered them an apology through a private message. I won't mention their names because they know who they are. Hell it is going to happen but it is how you deal with it that counts. If you upset someone swallow your damn pride and just say sorry mate and move one.

I got negative rep yesterday with the comment LOL!!!. What kind of a moron does that?!? I won't mention his name either. You know who you are!

as stated above there are ways and means to combat this. I'd never disown being involved in some of the crap but you take the good with the bad and use adult discretion as to what affects you and how you approach it.
In life everyplace you visit will have people that are smarter, dumber or have bigger ewangs than yourself.

Join whirlpool or whatever it is and see how good they make you feel about yourself!
All things aside best of luck, feel free to visit even if only for the technical stuff.
unfortunately every now and then a member wants accounts deleted etc. it doesn't make any difference - they usually come back anyway. I understand how this place can consume you.

And yes, Vic school holidays are on. YAY.

edit: bravo, you'll earn another one if you continue to dodge the swear filter!
