Manassen Foods currently distributes in Australia the well-known food brands including Coffex, Country Cup, Paul Newman’s Own and Wokka. Bright Food Company is the owner or distributor in China or Australia of the products of the following well-known Australian businesses or brands: Manassen Sunbeam Food Group Mildura Fruit Juices MFC Mildura Food Group A View to Food The Margaret River Dairy Company Simon Johnson Calendar Cheese Company Black Pearl Epicure Australia on a Plate Bob & Plate’s 100% Yum Hutchinsons Mundella Cheese and Dairy The Simply Fine Food Company They must have more on the list now, they just brought a diary in Tasmania. If they could they would tow it back to china.
More Aussie brands falling into Chinese hands. F*** me, this is getting beyond a joke. https://www.news.com.au/finance/bus...o/news-story/d5e14f5535fa7f9b96029ddd394228b8
That's the one, they want our baby formula, wheat-bix, vitamin pills, cosmetics. That's just some things they pay big bucks for.
why cant GM keep the holden brand going but turn the brand into a service centre like Automasters or Ultratune. it would help them service all the current new car services, warranties and recalls. if GM dont want to do that then what are there options? from what I have read, it appears GM Holden was losing money due to no sales (of crappy vehicles), and in the development of Right Hand Vehicles. sure there would be profitable business model could be made from it. if GM dont want to use the holden brand then perhaps they should sell it. If i was Nigel Warr, Sean Buckley or some guy who owned a bunch of auto servicing centres i would be picking up the phone and having a chat with the dickheads in detroit.
I wouldn't trust GM to run a corner store to be honest, everything they touch seems to turn to ****...
Sorry all having thumb dysfunction. I have been trying to say it would be a good idea to get stock parts now as i suspect they will get a bit harder to find and pricier as people start getting all nostalgic
That's already been happening for a few years now since the announcement of production closure, so there's nothing really new, but I suspect it's going to get a bit worse before it gets better. See how much a VDO clock to suit a FB to EH is now fetching ? And it's in pretty average condition appearance wise.
Absolutely, couldn't agree more. I always say that to people that think just because somethings advertised for a price doesn't mean it actually sells for that. Normally we'll never know what an item has sold for behind closed doors, but I can assure you that it didn't go for the advertised price.
Yep saw that dummy unit, can't believe someone went to all that trouble just for a bit of appearance rather than functionality.
Our silly PM should have heavied GM into gifting Holden's IP, the proving ground and branding to the Australian people (ie; the government). After all, we paid for it with the subsidies over the years. The brand could be kept on hold until some bright spark in the future decides to revive it (once Chinese wages make manufacturing here viable again...and that will happen in the next ten to fifteen years).
Sounds like a good proposition to me. The same happened to Mitsubishi when they hightailed it out of Adelaide. They gifted the "Tonsley Park" precinct to the SA Government who propped them up over a period of years.

Something must sit behind that gift... may be the land is contaminated and the silly government is picking up a huge liability
