At least they are saying spares will be available for 10 years but I bet the pricing won't get any better.

So what happens to spare parts and service and warranty etc. Is it a good time to buy or will the prices skyrocket now?

It "should" be ok for up to ten years, from caradvice:

"General Motors will also close its Melbourne design studio and test track at Lang Lang on the south-east outskirts of Melbourne. Approximately 600 of the 800 jobs will be lost, with all being awarded redundancies. The remaining workforce of 200 people will take care of Holden's ongoing service and warranty commitments for up to 10 years."

Gotta wonder if they will really quickly wind up older car spares and say draw the line at VE. Spares for 10 years could result in anything older than 10 becomes obsolete. Then the sharks on ePrey will buy up the remaining stock and charge whatever they like, like we are already beginning to see.

If they are pulling out of RHD, where does that leave corvette, which was to be sold under the Holden brand?

seems pure speculation though doesn't it. The car was confirmed for next year before the announcement today. I guess time will tell, there's lots up in the air at the moment.

In the same position as the RHD Cadillacs they imported in 2008 (?) ….. rare and unsellable.

I was alluding to the question of whether they intend to proceed with manufacturing them at all.
