What! They stopped the boats! No more “illegals”!

Well it was Tony Abbott that said he'd do that ! ;););) so it must've been a loooooooong term exit plan.

............ and now, if you look at https://www.holden.com.au/ ............. all you get is a notice about COVID and a recall on a 2008 Captiva.
The headstone on the grave has been fixed, just need GM to engrave it now showing a raised middle finger for us to remember them by.

Really quite sad(I am not a Holden “fan” by any long shot) but grew up in the sixties. My late father owned a FC(paid £650) second hand in 1961.Then later went on to buy a 1971 GTR Torana(yours truly owned a Twin Cam escort!) Any how my first vehicle was a “HB” Torana 2 door in “pinaroo beige”,also owned a FC as well,The next (& last Holden) was a 1974 Holden Sandman panel van “253 4spd” in the iconic “Chrome yellow”.But,I still have a soft spot for the marque,it is part of our culture & heritage in this wonderful country. But,it has been Ford for me since 1976.Now being retired I purchased a GT Mustang.RIP both local manufacturers, you both did us proud.Great halcyon years!

Our local Holden dealership is gone and is now some mixed import car yard. Sad days indeed. Back in the day they would put up big screens and have Bathurst live for the fans, would even blow up the odd Ford V8 along with drinks and nibbles for the faithful.

I just checked the above web site myself.

???????????

I still see this ....... "We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge that many of you are impacted by the increasing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19.
As the global community responds to the COVID-19 outbreak, please be assured that we are working closely with our Holden dealer network to help ensure that you have the support you need. You can count on us at times like this, especially if you need assistance.
If you have any questions, please contact our Holden Customer Care team at 1800 46 465 336."

But, there is a notice about the Corvette being moved to another site ................ if you are at all interested in what GM is hoping to sell to us.
