Have had my VE SV6 manual ute for coming up on 2 years soon and just having an issue now, after starting and the engine has been going a little a slight grinding or scraping sort of sound can be heard from the engine bay, its happened prob 4 times over the last 2 weeks in varying intense. It can only be heard while the car is at higher revs before it drops back down to normal rpm idle and also only on a cold start eg morning before work. I did notice the one time i heard it early enough it stopped when i put the clutch in buts its hard to hear unless close to the vehicle. Once the revs drop down and i drive away its never heard of again and doesn't affect driving at all.

has anyone heard of this at all, A friend said he had the same thing in another vehicle once that sounds identical and it turned out to be the bearings in the gearbox??

any ideas would be great, thanks
