Im getting some twin piston brakes that are coming off a VP SS and id say they are HSV twin piston ones.Do you think i will just need the discs(bloody big looking)and the calipers or just get the complete strut and brake set up?Does anybody know what they are worth, are they any good?PS i will be getting them very cheap.
They should be 330mm if they are Group A brakes. The discs and calipers are worth ALOT of money brand new. Make sure they're not a VT upgrade or 330mm disc that uses the VT hub adaptors.
Nah they are not VT twins. The discs look huge. They will prob will cost me between 1 and 2 hundred bucks. They dont know what they are.
The rotors should have SV cast into them. I was offered a full set about 4 years ago for $1500, included the 4 rotors, front and rear calipers and brake lines. I couldn't buy them at the time because I desperately needed to do other stuff to my car. Oh well.
he means the vt hub upgrade, uses a hub that goes on the strut, then tophat style discs like vr onwards. genuine grp a discs have the studs and hub all part of the disc and are damn pricey to replace.
oh and just to steal this thread a bit, anyone got any decent pics of the grp a rears? i hear they use a stock front caliper on a vented disc, but have never seen any pics.
the GpA rear is similar to that of the VL turbo front with ribs on top but with a different size piston. The kit PBR sells is the actual GrpA brakes as seen on their web page. http://www.pbrperformance.com.au/documents/ReferenceSpecVPIICommodore.pdf
i bought a vn group a full set for 900 bucks a bit back, haven't chucked em on, will throw up pics in the next couple of days if anyone wants.
