I cant see it being the most accurate thing on the planet, but thought some of you on the site would much rather pay 30 bucks for an around about figure versus 80-350 for a proper gtech that you may only use once or twice.
I downloaded the demo version onto my N95 and it seems to work well. It seems quit accurate when compared to my navigator, within about 1 km/ph. You need to have the phone close to the windscreen to receive as many satellites as possible. Both my GPS navigator and the GPS on my phone tell me that my speedo reads about 3-4 km/ph above the actual speed. I doubt that I will by the full version though.
i saw it while looking up info on gtech's, id never seen anything like it and didnt seem to be a rip off so i thought id post it on a few forums, i was just guessing since theres so many people in aus looking for a gtech but dont want to spend the cash they would much rather spend the 30 bucks for something pretty accurate, and you could put it on other phones if you want im guessing, like your mates phones...thats a good idea, get 2 or 3 mates, chuck in 10 bucks each!
you don't necessarily have to have a GPS phone because it also works with navigators (Navman, Garmin, TomTom etc.) providing it has bluetooth and your phone also has bluetooth.
yep i got a bluetooth tomtom, so just load it on my phone and hook up to the gps?? dont i need the symbion os for it to run? i have a nokia 6300
You do need symbian. Unfortunately your phone is not compatible. There is a list of compatible phones on the website.
there is a similar program for windows mobile devices, called GPS Performance works fine on my Imate Ultimate9502
Tyson has been using this software or something like it for a while on his phone, seems to fail more and more the faster the car you are use it on. But seems to go ok on 17 second cars
Be careful; i got told off by the flight stewardess when i was about 13 for operating dad's gps during the flight. She said it interferes with their equipment......... :whistling
I cannot see how the resolution of any GPS signal will make that system any more accurate than within a few tenths at best. Reaper
