G'day guys, I have been a member for some time now, So I figure its time to stat thread for my ride. I originally owned a SIDI SV6 But after only 12 months I decided that I should have listened to my heart in the first place and went out and got my self a V8. Model: 2011 MY12 VE SSV Colour: Black Engine: 6.0L V8 Gearbox: Manual Wheels: 19" Clubsport Current Mods: GM Motorsport Street Racer II cam - 231/243 @.050 FAST LSX manifold Ramjet OTR 25% UD Pully 3" Di filippo exhaust 1'' 7/8 Di filippo extractors Di filippo cats Brembo front Breaks Eibach springs Bilstein shocks Whiteline sway bars Ripshifter MAFless tune Not so near future: Heads 408 stroker Rear Brembos 3.7 - 3.9 Diff gears Anyway hear she is, At the moment she is nothing more than a standed black SSV ute so I wont bore you all with 100 different photos. :rofl2:
I'm quite fond of the current range of rims, They only thing wrong with them is you cant seem to fit a decent set of breaks behind them.
My 4 new additions to the car, They are 19'' Clusport rims in gun metal. I'm really happy with how they came out.
Odd, I attached one with the text and its showing up hear. Oh well if I some how messed it up hear is a Photobucket link. http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz67/gunnazz/IMG_0503a.jpg
So its been awhile, Time for an update. About a month or so ago I had a Ramjet OTR fitted along with a set of 1" 7/8 4 into 1 Di filippo extractors and high flow cats match. I than had GM Motorsport tune it, WOW the difference it has made to the car was unbelievable, It felt like a brand new car. I have also fitted a set of Brembos to the front along with braided line front and rear, Anyone thinking of upgrading there front brakes to Brembos should do it! It makes such a difference I feel like the car now breaks the way it should have from factory, the pedal is nice and firm and responsive. The car is going back to GM Motorsport to be lowered on Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks I'm really looking forward to that. Anyway enough rambling time for some pictures.
The cam is coming.... I will be finalizing the specs next week with GMM, May even do the heads if funds permit!
I'm the same as you bro. I had a sv6 2006 auto Silver metallic in colour. Different situation though. My sv6 got rear ended. Small bump by some retard on the phone whilst I was sitting at a red light. Anyway, the story gets worse... I took it to a panel repair shop that was approved by my insurance company. Whilst being repaired it was left outside behind closed gates so I was told by the panelbeater. Got a call that it was stolen from them 3 weeks later after I kept bugging them to repair the vehicle. Total bs I reckon. I still think the panel beater knocked it off or crashed it somewhere during the repairing stage. I ended up buying SSv but they did'nt have silver available at the time so I went for a red one because they had it in the showroom. Two months later the cops rang and told me they found my old sv6 in... as I quote from the cop "A thousand pieces" A lot of these people in the auto business have connections with organised crime groups that knock off cars. Next time I'm taking my damaged vehicle straight to the insurance company car lot to be repaired. Btw nice ride man. I would have got a ute if I did'nt have a family I am eventually gonna get a tune with GM Motorsport as I've heard nothing but good work from m8's
GM Motorsport has done all the work on my car and I cant fault there work, it is top notch. They are very professional and will to listen to what you have to say etc etc. Sorry to hear about you car mate, I have only had to deal with a panel beater once when I managed to smash up my first car a 323 Mazda :rofl2: The amount of **** that went wrong was endless the car forever leaked water, had numerous squeaks and rattles and there detailers even managed to scratch the hell out of the paint on the roof. Anyways good luck with the car mate you should start a thread once you start working on it.
Time for a quick update, The car is now cammed with all the gear to go along with it springs, rods, UD pully etc. I have also upgraded the stock intake to a FAST LSX 102mm. After a MAFless tune from Willall Racing the car is now sitting around 340KW with 688NM
Thanks mate, its getting there slowly. The SR II cam is very lumpy, Huge power but you do loose some drivability down low. I use the car for weekend duties now as its a handful in traffic etc. I'm in love with the cam now but it did take some getting used to. If your thinking of getting one Id recommend trying to find someone that has one and go for a drive and see what you think.
