hey guys, just bought some 19" hsv veloce wheels, theyve got some bad gutter scrape tho. anybody know of good places in brisbane and how much am i looking at roughly to get them fixed up? cheers guys i attached a photo of the wheel with the worst gutter scrape.
Most wheel places could send them off to get fixed but it might cost a bit tho.. Have a look at rimskins.. Hides a bit of rash..
mr calais 5.0 : those rimskins look like a good idea, ill look into it to see if it'll cover my existing rash, and tin snips i got a online quote of them and they rckn $250 each rim + freight costs haha.
mate theres about 3 or 4 places in brisbane, brisbane wheel repairs at albion, RACE engineering at summner park, evolution wheels at moss st slacks creek to name a few. none of them will be cheap though, google them for info. dont waste your $ on rimskins, ive seen them and they are crap.
Buy New! Hi, I had a car back into my Series II SV6 in a car park. One result was a very minor scruff mark on one wheel. The insurance response was to provide a new wheel, and not repair the scruffed one. I think it might be better to either put up with it, or buy new ones. The only other possible option might be to try wheel putty and paint over the damage. I know nothing about this process, but have heard of it.
I used Depulu to fix a gutter mark on one of my black rims and the result was great. Considering it was not a factory wheel and you cant buy the wheels anymore, they did a great colour match. You either take the wheel to Darra, drive to Darra and leave your car for a few days while they fix it, or courier it to Ashmore (where the repairs are done). Depulu can also remove buckles on site at Darra Cost me about $180 if I remember
well thats better than some places - you have to get the tyre removed first then put back on after thanks bonners
thanks for all the suggestions guys, i got a mate who i knew from school that works at an accident repair centre, (totally forgot about him) said he'd do his best to putty up the scratches and respray them gloss black for $100 for all 4. i'll post pics up once he's done. yeow! haha
