Does any one know how to remove the hand brake button on a vs??? Im putting on the chrome isotta one so please help!! cheers
Mine was terribly warn out, I couldnt even press it in (if I did, it would get stuck in). You can unscrew it normally I believe, I had to use a philips head screwdriver and hack away at it til it was all gone.
they only eject if the rubber is worn out and it doesnt stay on the shaft under the pressure of the spring, ive seen them hit windscreens while driving funny as you dont expect it... if you just pull the button off the spring stays over the shaft & doesnt eject and is very easy to push back on
Common Problem! It was common in the VS for the handbrake button to "spread" with use and get caught in the handle. I went through a second one, but the problem recurred some years later. The last one that I bought was of a much firmer rubber, and it was fine for many years. As previously advised, the button fits on the shaft by interference fit over a knob. It pulls off with enough effort.
Not wrong mate, this happened to me and either the button or the spring cracked me in the face while driving !! That was few years ago , now i left the spring out and put the button back on , works fine.
rebound off the dash? put 2 and 2 together? common sense would kill some people... but in relation to this how to you get the rubber grip off like the plastic / rubber handgrip i wanna change it biut i cant see a screw on it and ive reefed off it n everyting and it wont budge haha
