    Hi Guys.

My VS keeps consistently beeping the handbrake chime at me while driving and its driving me nuts.

I am thinking some sort of switch is broken as the handbrake light doesn't appear on the cluster when I pull the handbrake.

Does anyone know what to do, if it is the handbrake switch is there a work around besides replacing the switch.

    Thanks

Some times giving the switch a few flicks by hand may free it up. To stop the chime until you can fix the handbrake switch - take the chime out of the cluster.

Just get under there and short the switch out. Wont chime even if it's on

My VS has the same problem. All i do is raise the handbrake up one click and it is all good. (the cable has some slack in it so it is safe to do so).

Where is the switch located? I havent had a look, but am guessing it is under the lever under the centre console?

The switch is under the lever,in everything up to vn anyway. so i suppose vs the same. need to pull console out and clean out all the crumbs and crap that normally accumulate there. Its a yellow wire. I had my beeper going off but the light was still working, ended up being a broken line on the printed circuit part on the back of the cluster. Soldered that together and now seems ok.

Haha I have done the same thing. I would say my switch is dirty though considering I don't currently have a hand brake boot.

could also lift up the cover where your t-bar/ashtray is and just inplug the wire. all its doing is earthing the circut when the lever is pulled up much the same as the boot light switch. worked for me

as he said the light isn't illuminating, double check the globe first, i'm sure the l3 clusters beep if this is he case, been a while since i've had to deal with it, might be the same issue
