I'm overjoyed at being the proud owner of a VF Series 2 SS V, for around three months now. I'm fast approaching the grand old age of sixty, and every day I marvel at this beast and count my lucky stars that I own this incredible machine.
I love the burbles and pops as I accelerate and decelerate through the gears. I love the Mylink, I love the way it sits, looking like a great big black cat. I love the key-less ignition and start up. I love everything about this car.
However I read other posts about disgruntled people and their misgivings, and I wonder does anyone else just love their VF just cos they do ;)?

Spitfire green MY16 redline Ute with amcat canopy.
Yes. Only had it for 3 days, its just bloody awesome. The only bad thing is the sad emotions I get when thinking about the fact I will never be able to replace it.. (Aussie made rwd v8 ute)

Yes, I also lament that fact. Very sad.

Ive had my s2 since Feb last year, and still look forward to getting up for work at 2a. in the morning. Though i dont think my neighbours do. Ive modded mine exactly how i want it, and its just a perfect car for evey thing ill ever need. Its got Walky 375 Walky springs black roof and black out...

I really like mine, I got it last month.

I think the trick to enjoying any car is to not have too high expectations of it.

No car is perfect
Even the best cars become even less perfect as they get used
All cars will have component failure at some point and possibly with the worst timing
Don't expect Rolls Royce fit and finish unless its a RR
Fast cars will feel slower after you get used to them

I do, but I am still in the homeymoon period.

Havimg said that, my last car was heavily modified to get to a similar point that my ute is - but much more persnikity. It was a constant battle fighting electrical and mechanical gremlins - the VF just does it without fuss.

The noise is much better though....

Well said. I have a series 1 CalaisV. I have spent a lot of money on under the car things that I feel improve the car. With only 22k on the clock and more power than anything on offer why would I bother. I must have been lucky and got a good one. No issues ever, no rattles etc. I may not ever own the last but I think I have the best. At 65 all i am contemplating is getting the blower new injectors and then an E85 tune. You get used to whatever you have :)

Nothing wrong with a series 1, it's still the last shape.

Coming up 12 months old, no real complaints, and no issue, best driving commodore ever owned. Only bad thing about it, is sticking to the speed limit,
why'll listening to the v8 under acceleration.

Lol. Yes, agree one hundred percent. As a young adult, I spent thousands on my 4.2 litre HQ Monaro coupe, to achieve the same results. However, I still wish I owned the Monaro :(
