Hi all,

Does anyone know if the Harrop 6/4 combo will fit the VF SS-V (non redline) wheels? I own an SS and am looking for a wheel upsize 19+ that is affordable, to offset the immediate pain my wallet will feel and there happens to be a few on fleabay for sweet FA with tread and to be honest, I like the SS-V wheels!

Failing that according to Harrop, the 4/4 combo will work with stock VF SS 18's and of course be a brake only purchase for me. Who wouldn't want the 6/4 though if you had a choice. But buying decent wheels and rubber can vary from $1500 ish for OEM new to almost $5000 or more for aftermarket with quality tread.

What's everyone's thoughts??? Please someone tell me that they fit SS-V wheels if not what about Redline wheels (also quite a few with tread for sale cheap)

PS Not interested in the Brembo's and I mean no disrespect to those that own them, I think they're great brakes and have driven them in the Redline but before purchasing the car in Sept 13 my mind had already imagined the big mofo 6/4 kit.. I haven't read the specifics of the company but does anyone know if the are fully Australian owned?

Regards.....

Give Harrop a call mate, I'm sure they have been asked the question before.

I assume that's why they provide a profile template, so they don't have to know every wheel that compliments their brakes, however I will drop them a line. Its just that I don't own the 19 inch OEM's to check. What comes first, the chicken or the egg (brakes then wheels to fit or wheels then brakes to fit????).
I'll post up when they get back to me.......

Just buy some E series HSV wheels to fill the gap. They're usually reasonably priced, easy to come by and you know they'll clear the brakes. Plus when the time comes to sell them someone in an Evoke/Omega will want them.
For what it's worth Brembo make a 6/4 kit that easily adapt to our cars and they're decently priced too.

In a word....Yes.

The Harrop Ultimates will not fit 18" SSV rims. I've done a lot of research into brakes for my VF SSV Redline. Harrop Ultimates will clear the Redline wheels HOWEVER there is a cheaper option.

You touched on the issue of Brembo's. Brembo brakes are the worlds top brake manufacturer and standard equipment on a lot of top end performance cars, like the Camaro ZL1 and Z/28. The cheapest option is to purchase on EBay 6p front and 4p rear Brembo's that fit a 2009+ CTS-V Cadillac/2012+ Camaro ZL1. These calipers will bolt straight onto our VE/VF models.
You will need the front discs from GSL Rallysport (Just Commodores forum sponsor) and part number DBA42608 as too the rear discs (can't recall the part number sorry)

If you go down this route it shouldn't cost you anymore than $3000 all up for calipers, pads, pin kits, bolts and discs. This is half the price of Harrop Ultimates!

If you like, I've listed below the part numbers you can search on EBay to make it even cheaper for you
