Hi, i want to get a gps. I am looking at this one Welcome to Navig8r for $198 at harvey norman. Has anyone got one or used one? I want to find out if they are easy to use etc. Cheers Shane
Slow and crap, from what i've read. get someone to give you a demo on one before you buy. You'd be better off spending another $100-150 and getting Navman or TomTom.
Or running Tom Tom or something on a PDA (if you have one already) Just make sure you can edit/add POI data for safety cameras, etc as some of the cheaper units have no way of upgrading data for points of interest without forking out a lazy $100 or so for a new map data card I'm running a PDA based one and it's better than the stand alone Navman unit i had (offloaded it on Ebay as it wasn't as easy to keep up to date with data and it couldn't do as much as the PDA software version could)
Thats not a bad price, Static Ice lists the cheapest at $339 staticICE :: tomtom one v3 : Australia's comprehensive computer hardware and gadget price comparison search engine (it does come with a second mount kit though) Try the good guys, they usually price match and see what else they will throw in.
ive got a tom tom one xl, fantastic product, the extra large screen makes seeing thing easy as, oh it also has a small discrete looking windscreen mount, ive noticed a lot of the cheaper units have mounts that are huge and stick out like dogs balls
i just got home from dubbo. i bought a tomtom one v3. it led me home not the most direct way but it got me here. didnt know that they showed the posted speed limit and beeps when you go 10kmh over it. now all i have to do is download some new voices and it will be all good.
