If the pads weren't bedded in properly they will be noisy as hell, and will leaving a......pattern, on the disc, looking like its not all contacting. Go out and do some 60km/h - 10km/h heavy braking about 10 times and the same for 80km/h.

It will smell and probably be hot as hell, but after doing that see if it looks like is braking evenly on the disc.

Did the brakes get bled when installed? Could there possibly be an air bubble in line to the rear-left caliper causing reduced pressure to the rear-left? Bleed it a bit and see if that helps. Also how old is the brake fluid if not chabged?

+1 That's what I'm wondering too, it sounds like there's odd pressure in the left side, causing the pads to not fully push against the rotor. As Aca said, try giving the brakes a good bleed, and again some 60 - 10, 80 - 10 stops. I make sure I do at least 10 of each when I put new pads on the VL

Were the pads new or just the discs? If old pads are running on a new disc you'll get uneven contact until the pad wears down enough to match the disc. If that is the case, you shouldn't attempt to bed the pads until the wear has occurred i.e. drive gently until it does.

Was there any grease or oil on the disc surface, perhaps as a consequence of the loose bearing nut? If there is any grease or oil it will smear around and cause a pattern like that. It can also, ultimately, result in brake shudder.

Thanks for the sugestions

Brake fluid, very very good question....i have no idea how old it is, but i do need to flush the lines etc, i actually now remeber i had to change the copper washers on the front pssenger side caliper when i cahnged all brakes as it was leaking, but i only bleed that one caliper as i needed to move the car quick. but i have forgoton all about that till now.....(****)

so i will get on to that

also pads and disks new all round at the same time, and also cleaned useing proper brake cleaner

might be worth getting that rotor machined and start the bed in process again

should not have to the bedding in will correct all the uneven wear. remember after the last near stop of the bed in procedure drive the car for a few km at 100-100 to cool them down before you make a complete stop.

I would check the wheel bearing on that wheel. If the nut came loose and you drove it like that, chances are it's stuffed, that would be making the noise and if it isn't running 100% true, will cause a funny wear pattern on the rotors.
