86 is a positive
85 is a ground
30 is a switch wire/fuel pump control

depends on what you are wanting to switch too some things are switched by earthing the relay control wire some are switched giving the relay 12volts.is it specifically the fuel pump you are looking at

Basically 85 and 86 are the coil (control), "polarity of the coil does not matter unless there is a diode across the coil. If a diode is not present, you may attach positive voltage to either terminal of the coil and negative voltage to the other, otherwise you must connect positive to the side of the coil that the cathode side (side with stripe) of the diode is connected and negative to side of the coil that the anode side of the diode is connected"

30 and 87 is the switched load. When the coil is energized the normally open contacts close to form a circuit.

Also most cars these days are negative switched so...

fused active 87 loop to 86
85 to body of car via switch. this allows only one cable to be run and not have an active cable floating about as it'll be the same potential with the car so the worse that'll happen is the lights will turn on :D
30 to load

depends on what circuit on vn and vp like he has the fan is switched by the ecu earthing the control wire where fuel pump is switched by the ecu sending power to the control wire
