Oh, and if you plan to continue the fight but want the car repaired because Holden won’t currently meet their obligations, you should get a specialist engineering firm (that can attend a small claims court as expert witness if needed) to strip the engine and asses the cause of the fault and report whether it was due to late oil change... Then rebuild it correctly at your preferred place...
That way when you go to small claims court, you’ll have evidence that Holden refused warranty, the cause was not late oil change and that Holden were simply being arsehats... the 3rd party costs to repair what Holden should have... With such preparedness you’re in a better position to get the 3rd party lifter repair (and possibly other repairs due to for example piston slap due to excessive bore clearance) awarded AND you may get the investigation costs of engineering firm and their attendance reimbursed as consequential loss (maybe) if the judge decides Holden were being arsehats...
