    Hey all,

just thought I'd share a letter we received today.

"Vehicle Safety Recall - 11-H-01- Factory Fitted Hollandia Sunroof"

    Dear Holden Customer (nawww)

We are writing to inform you that Holden has initiated a vehicle safety recall on a number of Holden products with a factory fitted sunroof.

Holden has been advised of a condition where, in some instances, the glass panel may become detached from the sunroof assembly while in motion.

We are now contacting affected Holden owners to arrange a free-of-charge onspection and where required, replacement of the sunroof glass panel assembly"

One hell of a thing to be flying through the air when you're buzzing along at 100?

From what i saw in the paper, it goes back to 2002, and also affects Ford.

I have done my claim form now just have to contact Holden/HSV or Webasto to book it in for the replacement glass and edging.

mine goes in tomorrow , they actually just unclip the old glass & frame surround from the mechanism , lift it out & replace it with a new glass & frame, about a one hour job. My question is suppose you have had tint film put on your old glas- you get a new glass with no tint on it!!!!! So you have to get it retinted, another $100 to shell out.....

Don't know about aftermarket models, but the Holden manual describes the glass at being tinted at time of installation. Since they're doing a 'new-for-old' replacement, I'd suggest it'll be the same sort of glass.

You could always ask the question when they install it, or specify that the same grade tine be used before its put in.
