I've got a Kenwood cd player, about 2 years old, and i originally put it in my L300, in a home built wooden console, and I didn't need to use the chassis frame that came with it. Since moving house, i'm pretty sure I threw it out, as I didn't think i'd upgrade cars so early, but now i've had enough of the standard VS Hi Fidelity cassette player and want to put the CD player in it.
But I don't want to pull everything apart, then find out that it just will not sit in place, unless I use the original parts supplied with it for installation.
So do people here use the chassis pack, or once the dash is in pieces, is there like a shelf that the cd player sits on anyway?
If my request doesn't make sense, please tell me, and i'll try to explain what I mean in greater detail.
Any help or advice gladly appreciated.
(I'd rather buy a new mp3 player, and get it installed, but I just don't have the money. )
