Head Unit Suggestions

Hey all, looking a putting a new head unit into my 2004 VY Commodore. Looking for a double din with a budget of under $1000 total cost. Don't really know too much about cars to be honest. Wanting to also install a reversing camera as well.

Any suggestions of what will fit and what's the best and so on will help. Cheers

Wanting to be able to use carplay / android auto on it, radio and touch screen if possible. Any reversing camera suggestions good as well please.

What other functions would you be wanting?
for example, does digital radio, carplay/android auto, cd's and the like matter to you alot?

Went with a top Kenwood just over a year ago which had everything (and its easy to use, using the patch leads made it simple to install). The reverse cam on it has a good picture.
But the ones that dont have digital radio or cd capabilties were much cheaper.

Should be able to pick up a nice unit, with all the patch leads and possibly have it installed for that $1000 budget

Alpine ILX-W650e. This features two finger swipe across for next song. You don’t have to touch a specific spot. Swipe up or down anywhere on the screen with two fingers for volume up or down. Dual Bluetooth connectivity. Carplay and AndroidAuto.
Add a pair of JBL GTO609 splits in the front.
Aerpro Facia
Steering wheel control module
Alpine adaptor harness.

You’ll come in around $1k and fricken love it.

That Pioneer looks a good one for me. Seems like it's out of stock unfortunately.

Easy as. It’s all plug and play. Would take about an hour.

The speakers would be the only tricky bit for someone new to it. But doable. I posted how I installed mine here:
