Hi, i just finished insatlling a pioneer deck into my VY and everything works fine except when i program the channels in, every time i turn the car off it goes back to factory settings and doesnt have the channels saved anymore. is this a wiring problem or is it a head unit setting problem

    Hey Younglion.

I reckon it's a pretty simple wiring problem - my guess is that you've reversed the +12Batt and Acc lines. +12Batt should connect to a line that's always powered, that's what provides the "memory" function for your presets etc. If you've accidentally wired this to the Acc supply, that would explain why when you switch off it loses these.

Have a closer look at your wiring, I reckon you'll get to the bottom of it soon.

    Cheerz!

yep thanks guys problem fixed! umm another question kinda off topic but the speakers in the back doors, im thinking of just extending the wire from the stock speakers up to the parcel tray where my 6x9 are, im not putting an amp in for a while so i thought this will do me for now. will that work?

No only use one or the other, not both. It will put an increased load on the headunit which wont do it any good and sound worse. Theres a good chance the 6x9's wont sound any better than stock running of headunit, so i'd say leave it for now until you get an amp.

Yeah you can do that if you want. Personally I would wait till i got an amp and upgrade the front and rear door speakers at the same time. You may notice some improvement now with the new headunit, other than slightly better bass response you wont notice much unless your sitting in the back, plus you might as well use them if you got them already.
