VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
Toothpaste worked damn near perfect for me - all except deeper scratches. The secret is to not do it by hand.

Largely just tried it because I'm stingy rather than seeing some sick 5 minute craft youtube vids. Funnily enough whatever toothpaste I picked (cheapest white $2 stuff) worked better than any of the random polish and compounds I had around (including Brasso).

Quality write up though, particularly the after treatments.
Get back in the sea

Googled "duplicolor uv clear coat" and the first hit was:

Your results may differ so don't blame me if your first hit is porn :p:p:p

PS: when you put in your local store the likelyhood is that bloody Repco doesn't have any in stock. Such was the case in the few east coast cities i checked

One other product that is designed for headlight resortration but in this instance is in theory harder wearing since it's 2K is:

Not sure of the above spray can's availability via physical store down under (but one could check paint suppliers).

Otherwise specific headlight restoration clear coat that does sell down under (but sold in bulk) is:

Choose your poison, 2K or 1K... :p

I think you'll find that it's not just that the store has no stock, it's actually never stocked at the store. I think Repco are moving away from Duplicolor as a while ago there was a lot of it on clearance. Launceston has very little in the way of Duplicolor range and it has been that way for over 12 months.

Repco are being lazy fcuks.

If they have zero desire to replenish of stock a product and it's no longer available in store or on line, then they should update their webstore to not show such products. In this case I find their behaviour really annoying

I dare say Repco will no longer sell it too. What I am finding is more and more auto stores are reducing their stock lines and having a limited range. I remember Repco just 10 years ago, having a vast range of Repco branded tools, now you're lucky to find 1/10 of the range they used to carry. This might be speculation but I think you'll find Duplicolor was not a big mover at Repco, hence they are probably getting out of it. Whereas SCA carry the largest range and also have various specialised Duplicolor products, but they too don't stock the headlight clear coating.
