Since the search function seems to be playing up I’ll ask here. Can I put SS-V projector headlights onto my Omega? Do they have different plugs?

Not sure as the shape may be subtly different between the two. Doubt they’d have different steel (fender, hood) pressings so you may need to simply change the grill between the lights. As to the plugs, both have H4 halogen globes, if I’m not mistaken, which defines the connector type used.

Alternatively you could look at caprice headlights as some came with HID options. You’d need to bring across the front and rear height sensors, self levelling module, headlight washer system and wiring but the HID lamps would be miles better (and almost fully compliant).

Maybe a visit to the wreckers would be in order ;)

Cheers, I will have a visit to a wreckers this weekend. I’m in New Zealand so no headlight compliance issues, other than not being allowed red lights at the front for obvious reasons lol.

Yes indeed they do. Hoping the SSV projectors will just be a straight swap

if you have a series 2 Omega then they wont fit flush if it's a series 1 headlight. 99% certain will be straight swap with the loom side. I have a set of HSV headlights (They the same headlight as SSV / CalaisV) at the moment on my desk I can try get some photos if need

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
They are the same in every way other than the internals.

S1 only fits S1 and S2 only fits S2.

Yep it’s a series 1 so I’ll start hunting. Good to know they should be a straight swap. Cheers

Pretty sure every VE variant used H7 lows and H9 highs...
You’re correct. VF is also H7, H9.

I was going from memory based on what I’ve read here and it’s been rather fuzzy due to head cold. Sorry to OP for misinformation
