sometimes when I turn the ignition off with my VL, the headlights flash on and off, this is when the lights are turned off
I only notice it in the garage as the area in front is lit up for a second
any suggestions?

Full on...never heard of that one.

Has at some point your fuse box been melted? Possibly check for a short under the fuses or maybe there was a smash at the front and it's squashed the loom thus creating a short.

Well I could only guess, when mine was playing up, brake pedal pressed, indicators would come on slightly, headlights would come on slightly, dash lights would come on slightly, engine would nearly stall if the car was running.

It was at the rear in the boot, right hand side loom, first one after the taillights connect. I'll post more later but I have to go now.
