the headlights just used to go out for about half a second or so if i drove off a gutter abit rough, or went over a big bump,

but now im gettin worried, because they flick of for about half a second or so when at idle, and yeah they still go out when i take it bush bashing

anyone got any ideas?
(apart from me treating the vn with more respect)

had a headlight issue once, the headlights would occasionally fail to work, kept flicking the switch back and forth and going high beam/low beam/high beam etc (in backstreets) and they'd come on after a bit.
holden said switch block, quoted something ridiculous, like 300.
got a switch block from a wrecker, made no difference.
took the fuse out from under the bonnet, cleaned its terminals. worked fine after that.

BINGO!
found the prob :)
thanks pow3rslave, i just popped the bonnet, checked the fuse,
to find it with absolutly filthy terminals, and the bloody things melted,
like the fuse is slowly blowing over time :S
i DO have higher wattage globes fitted, so that would explain that,

problem fixed, put old bulbs back in for low beams, and new fuse, cleaned, its running fine now
