I have just polished my headlights and are happy with the outcome.
Should I clear coat them?
For and Against please.
Cheers

If you can find a headlight UV clear coat, I would try that.

I've polished many pairs of cloudy head lights, tried to seal them with a UV sealant, but they usually start to get cloudy again after a few months.

yeh same

I used marine grade UV clear coat and after a like 6months started to yellow

Once they start to yellow, can never permanent fix

I found headlight restorer and once a month Turtlewax Headlight Cleaner and Sealant to be pretty good

This is the problem when manufacturers use components suited to Europe or cooler, less UV intense environments than ours.

I don't think any manufacturer makes plastic headlight lenses that won't discolour or fade over time in our climate. Good old glass had a lot going for it.

I couldn't agree more. Not made to last, just cheaper to make and will need replacing.

Sand with 800-1200 and clear them.
I am thinking about clear coating them. What type of clear would you suggest? What about a plastic adhesion promoter?
My biggest fear is melting the plastic throw a bad reaction.
Cheers for your input.
