I have 3 and used every pair, the ones used for subwoofers.

2007 WM Caprice
I had a problem in my old car triggering the amps with ACC. Somehow the ACC feed into the 12v REMOTE input on the amps was causing a ground loop. running this to the head units amp wire fixed the issue. Id also suggest when you run this, run 2 extra wires (constant (with an inline 10a fuse) and a ground) from the boot where you have the amps grounded, and not use the factory ground. Having all car audio equip powered and grounded to the same source, and RCA's run down opposite sides to power seems to be good way to ensure no engine noise.

Im fighting engine noise atm in my WM Caprice, but the VE's are notoroious for noise (even while using a $400 audio processor rather than LOC's)

So you have tried three different pairs? All three pairs create the same noise when touched to earth? What was the reason for 'm or using the proper remote output from the head unit?

Actually, it does put out a fair whack more... it does have its own internal power supply with 30v rails from memory. I still wouldn't purchase one nor would I say it's quality gear but that's beside the point.

Anarklov3r hit the nail on the head, sometimes depending on where you get your accessories feed from it can be saturated with noise which amps (typically budget amps) can't always filter out. This filters through to either the preamp or power amp stage. Usually the former. I think StoneX would be a bit more knowledgeable on this side of things.

No, it has two amplifier ICs running directly off the car battery voltage with no power supply to step the voltage up.
Which is why it runs a 10amp fuse.

It will do the same power as a headunit, about 20watts per channel.
