Question is the heater box in a column ute same as a floor shift? I ask because the ones i have looked at seem different. Other question is is the pics below from a box out of a VR?

Bump, anyone know if this is a VR heater box, and whether a column ute box is the same as wagon?

I can try and find out but I'm pretty sure that there are only three variants, standard Heater, HVAC and Climate Control. The same shape will fit into all variants of body style, Sedan, Wagon, Utility and LWB (Statesman & Caprice)

I can't see that column shift will change much as far as the actual box is concerned, it's just the revised controls that a bit different to suit the 3 seater arrangement, but it still hooks up to the same points on the HVAC housing.

Yeah if you can find out if that box is out of a VR that would be great. It's already out, in the back of a wagon at the wreckers. Save me a few hours work if i don't have to remove full dash etc.

No the one in the wagon was trashed, so i left it in when i scrapped it. One in the ute is has a hole in it and it has problem with the vents or something. Either way it needs pulling out and checked. I want to have a replacement for parts and this one would be easy as if it is a VR one. I can't find any info on it and he wants 80 bucks which could be 80 bucks wasted if it's out of some unknown vehicle.

Sorry one day late on this one, but sadly it's a number that no longer exists in "Holden's Electronic Parts Catalogue" and therefore was probably put into "parts history" in the early 2000's and then the number was deleted around 2005 altogether. So sadly there's no record of the number or what it even was.

Sorry for the bad news.

Thanks mate for checking. I might have to pull a dash out to get hold of one. Hopefully find a VR that has been stripped out pretty well already.

Hi Losh,

I'll check the part number on my VS Fische and it will more than likely be a carry over number from previous models anyway. So lets not hit the panic button until I check that fische out that I've got.
