Ok, I have no experience with the VE heater box or ute, but as no-one else has answered I'll do my best. From what I've read, I'm not sure a series 2 h/u fits into a series 1 and works. Saw a thread asking that question, but I didn't read it. Is the Maloo single zone or dual? And yours? If it's the same I don't see any issues. I put a new h/u & hvac controls in and just replaced that unit. Just had the HVAC programmed for my single zone. Which is the next point, it won't work straight away. You will have to get the new headunit reprogrammed for your car. I think it's just the VIN that its locked to. Also I don't know what is different between the two and why you got the Maloo h/u, but don't expect extras to work unless they're specifically included. That is, the bluetooth is separate (its behind the glovebox) and so to is GPS. Not sure what's missing there or where it is but at least the antenna will be somewhere it can be picked up. Should be a thread somewhere to answer those questions if they are relevant to you.

Its nice and easy to put a new h/u in. Not sure about heater box, had to remove EVERYTHING to do it in the VN. But not an issue if they're both the same zone type I believe. Good luck and hope you like it. :)

(now I've put an answer up I'm sure it'll be corrected where I'm wrong)
