Gday guys, i just had my heater core replaced, everything is good with that, but when i left the blokes house, the shift up through 1st into 2nd felt odd. 1st seemed to hold out revs alot longer than usual. I have a shift kit and corvette servo and it obviously holds the revs out longer anyway because of the shift kit, but, it doesn't feel the same and doesn't seem to shift AS hard now. Feels like a slight power loss too, not much, but it's noticible. I checked the vacuum hose from the canister to the inlet manifold, the little "T" piece near the inlet manifold, and all the vacuum hoses under the dash, behind the heater / air con switch are all fine, connected and nothing seems out of place. I can't seem to find the link between what was involved with the heater core and this trans problem. It's got me ****ed. Or am i just tired? lol Any ideas at all? Cheers guys!
ok, my theory.. and this is just a theory.... heater core is related to the radiator... radiator is connected to the trans cos of coolant lines... maybe some atf was lost from radiator somehow?? unless you have a trans cooler in which case my theory is invalid. You may be looseing pressure somehwere but im not sure why its related to the heater core. Need to assess what was modified and work backwards. Heater core was changed.. only connection is its near the area that the shifter is. hmmm... maybe they are completly unrelated? lol... sorry i cant help more but there really sems to be no connection... aZk.
That's what i thought. Yes i do have a trans cooler. I'm maybe thinking it's because i haven't driven it all day and i'm tired from work. I don't see the connection between trans and heating / coolant system. If anything was knocked under the shifter surround, it would be alot different to what i think i am experiencing. Maybe those 5 cans of V i have had in the last 24 hours have ****ed me up lol.
maybe its your cars way of telling you to GTFO? did you check your kick down cable ajustment? did you check your fluid levels??? did you check for any leaks under the car? did you snort anything last night? did you check how hot the trans was? (hand on transcooler line) personally i HATE in radiator transcoolers... i dont run the in radiator one i have a 30cm wide by 20cm deep external one also did you make sure that the guy who changed it didnt connect the trans breather to the throttle body?
LOL, so do i dude. It's mounted in my front bar in front of my radiator. It's also an external one. What the hell are you on? lol. It's all good, it's shifting fine now. It's leaking at the trans pan because of the pan gasket, but the trans place are replacing that for free as they only did it a few months ago. Lucky i keep all receipts. Not going back there after they replace the gasket. But yeah, all sorted now
dont sniff trans fluid... its not nice... even not nicer when you spill hot trans fluid on your face tryng to play with a vr comming ive been working on all day... ive spent more time working on other peoples cars than my own lately... *thread hijack* *********************ITS PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME****************************
