    Hi all,

Im just putting the tensioner back on my VS although its leaking where it goes into the water pump (pipe which runs across the tensioner assembly.

Ive put a new o ring on it. Should I put some silicone or similar on it to seal it up?

    Thanks

I'd put silicone (not RTV silicone) grease on it only to allow it to slip in easily and seat properly. Failing that just good old Vaseline will do.

    As above
If you don't lube the O ring they sometimes pinch when pushing the pipe in and this can split or tear the O ring.
Pull it apart again and check the O ring for damage then put some Vaseline on it and inside the hole in the tensioner before pushing the pipe and O ring back in.
