I dont see how the amount of glycol should cause it to leak, its only liquid after al, sounds like a faulty heater tap to me , i always run 50/50 in all my cars and never had a leak from a new heater tap

I think I fixed the heater tap issue. I made a tiny rubber gasket that I slipped over that pin and is squashed in place when I attach the HVAC contraption to the heater tap. No leaks so far but If it does leak again Ill just spring for a new non-GM one. It seems their new heater taps are not as good of quality as the previous models sadly.
On the issue of mechanics thats another reason why I want to learn to do things on my own car is that its really hard to get reliable honest work these days. You pay top dollar only to have some apprentice sign off on your car. The company I worked for had a car service option, where you could take your car during work hours and pick it up after. Anyway I picked my car up from the lot at 2am and drive home (15km) only to find that my car nearly overheats, some idiot when servicing my car had either punctured my radiator deliberatly or accidentaly.
