Looked at my battery this afternoon, after crawling through the boot and trying to start the b**ch again, battery shows GREEN 'ok' charge level on the indicator, upon trying to crank the car everything turns off - dash and radio, but releasing key from crank position it all comes back on
not sure if i mentioned prior but tried cranking her over this morning, similar issue but the radio wouldnt turn off even with the key out, it now turns on properly (no flickery screen) and turns off fine
Going to change out the voltage regulator and hopefully i don't need another alternator - there was no magnetisation on the alternator however im not sure if thats the only way to tell :s

the cell indicator only shows the sg of that particular cell
it is a guide to state of charge only

Get the battery out of the car and give it a nice long slow charge and then get it tested.

do this first it's the best way to recharge a very flat battery

Alas, finally, car is running again!
Charged the battery on a slow charge - didnt seem to do anything
Changed out the voltage regulator - soon as those battery terminals hit the battery i saw green in the meter again
She clicked over without hesitation and off she went without a puff of smoke :D
Now to get this P/S pump swapped out and sell the old girl
