Or similar get a 1mm angle grinder wheel and cut the pipe where most other vn/vp exhausts are cut (near the u bend over the axle) then slit the top of one end so itl fit over the other piece and buy a exhaust clamp. Easiest and quickest fix.

So let me get this straight, you're cutting a piece of tube in half (for arguments sake) then slipping one piece over the other.

What's wrong with this picture?

It needs to be expanded to be able to slip over, THEN you put an exhaust clamp on.

You can either take it to an exhaust shop and get them to do the above or cut and weld flanges on.

OR you could drop the rear end to fit it.

Up to you.

Bit hard for the exhaust shop to weld it when it's on the car. How are they going to weld the top half of the pipe?

People are being stupid about this :p

1) stick it on a trailer and take it to the exhaust place
2) ask them to cut it, weld flanges, and fit it
3) pay them

This way, when it has flanges, you can disconnect and remove it again yourself if you ever need to.
