Hey Guys,

I have an 01 VX commodore L67 & is running abit rough on a cold start.
I was looking through my engine bay & saw this black box that is key locked.
It fell off its bracket & is now smashed & I think the wiring is stuff, does anyone know what this is?

Thanks in advance :) 20211205_124636.jpg

I may be way off the mark, but could it be some kind of car alarm?

It’s a car alarm.
These were common on most cars, (oh I can’t believe I have to say this)… in the olden days.

Worst. Things. Ever.
Always faulty and broken. It’s been 84 years since I’ve seen one of those.

Your not much older than myself I believe.
And yeah, it does feel strange having to say olden days with things like this, lol

I liked the 84 years comment lol.
Ive chopped a few of those things off some of them put a normally closed contact in the starter circuit I left that in place once a mate was leaving the silly alarm died he visited to use my pressure washer to degrease his motor.
The next day he put a positive on that relay he never said why he did that. of course it wouldn't start.
