    VE omega 3.0L Series 2
    Hi guy's
I bought a VE Series 2 omega (white) last year. Its an ex cop car (not sure of police mods)
    Current mods
    - Its an ex cop car (not sure of police mods)
    - Sound system
    2 x 6.5 alpines (front)
    2 x 6 aplines (rear doors)
2 x 6x9 alpines (parcel shelf + calais speaker covers)
    - Sv6 series 2 rims
    - Towball
    - Sv6 sideskirts
    - Sv6 bumper & grills etc with chrome inserts
    - HID 6000k lights low & high beams
    - LED parkers
    - Debadged

My missus recently damaged the front bumper on the car which helped me find a reason to fit the sv6 bumper and skirts.
The parts dealer at holden said it would cost me over 2.5k to do and would like to see my do it cheaper. I managed to do it all painted and fitted for just over $900.

Recently I went to inquire at holden about getting a wiring harness to fit my fog lights. As per usual the parts dealer at the holden branch were not very useful and said it is very hard to find the right one for my car.

Has anyone done this on a series 2 omega ?
The only posts i found on the subject were on a series 1.

I believe that the headlight switch is different in the omega to the ones that have factory fogs and have heard of many people trying to do this with little success other than to just run a new switch through the firewall. I could be wrong though.

I do however recommend that you wire your fogs up via a relay to your high beam and then throw some HID globes in them, as a) they are useless in the fog, b) I'm a using-fog-as-dtrl Nazi who thinks that people who run them for show and blind oncoming traffic as a result are inconsiderate arsehats, c), its illegal to run fog lights if its not foggy, and d) they are much more useful done this way and used as proper driving / spot lights when you actually need light, instead of just having them on for show.

Yes i was planning to do that seeing the other threads recommending it. I have HID's for them but yeah holden being as they are, i might pay an auto sparky to have a look. Holden seems to think i should get a brand new light switch etc because wiring to the high beams will be "too hard." He told me the lights from the factory are not actually fog lights. That they are just daytime driving lamps which makes them legal. I also need to try and angle my New high beam HID's because they seem to not point down the road enough.
    thanks for your help mate

It's not that difficult, you could do it yourself. A couple of relays, one terminal to a battery source, piggy back the switch pole from the high beam wire, output to your fogs.

To be legal you need to be able to turn them off by their own switch, but mine are never isolated that way, the can and do only come on when high beams are activated, so there is no need to ever be pinged for it unless you high beam a copper.

If you are unsure, get a auto elec to do it for you, shouldn't cost more than $50. There is about $15 of parts and 30 mins to do the job if fog lights are already installed, ie lenses and lights fitted to bumper already just need wiring to complete.
