hey guys i have a vr exec and 1 of my electric mirrors does not work. the wiring of the mirror is fine because i can hear it and when i try to adjust the mirror the engine behind the mirror is moving but its like something behind the glass has came out of its socket so to speak. i was wondering how to remove the glass facier off the mirror so i can check it all out cheers jordan
Dont think it was designed to be removed. I have tried this and been unsuccessful after much carefulness and time ended up smashing it and getting a secondhand one for $30 and fitting it.
commomad is right. The glass seems to sit in there too well. Im sure I have read people saying they have done it, but I was not able to without damaging it. Just replaced the whole mirror. Maybe try pushing the mirror. I think from memory the back of the mirror sits in a little ball joint type socket. Maybe it has just come out a bit. A good push on the mirror might get it back into place. If you run out of options just pull the mirror really hard and hope for the best. Worst case you are replacing it anyway. Actually have a read of this and try: http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-holden-commodore-1997-2002/37573-can-replaced.html Would love to hear if you have any luck.
