The only thing I have learnt from this thread: If you have outside security camera's - make sure they are ones designed for license plate pictures.
i have a bumper bar made out of 6mm chromed steel. sabbath has a MASSIVE nudge bar thus, we dont care, in the slightest.
Totally agree mate, what's the point of them if you cannot pick up the detail needed... Owner has already said he will be looking to upgrade them after seein this
probably... as i said, the damage looks minor, but it has cracked the plastic, and creased it, which means a new bar regardless..... dont think ill be able to pick up the crease in a photo. but like i said, its besides the point, its the moral of the bloke that has pissed me off
i know its waste of money for you and in reality you should have to do it, but maybe set up a dash cam and hope he comes back in and goes through with that quote. thats providing the guy from the business remembers his face.
I have posted it on three forums (including this one) trying to get as many eyes looking for this car as possible! plus me, my misses, and all work mates are looking for it, and hopefully all the people that have watched the video (its had over 4,000 hits). i did report it to the police couple weeks ago, but ye without that number plate, not too much they can do.... so biding my time and waiting till i bump into him.. what else can i do really? i thought about crime-stoppers and the like, but its probably too minor to waste there time with had to go into the city today for work, and spotted 2 models of interest, but neither where the target
was thinking that, it was car audio, and i know theres a couple of car audio places around the area. i can only assume he is somewhat local, as i dont think he would have driven from hours away just to look at this shop, without leaving a card or something... so fair chance he is from the north/west. and ye im looking into dash-cams, really dont want one, but unfortunately it looks like thats the way of today.....
ok what i would do is go to every audio shop. speak to the audio fitter guy and tell him if that make and model car comes through to give you a call. for his trouble give him a slab or $50. i know if someone was offering me $50 for just making a phone call id be keeping my eyes peeled on every car in the shops car park. anyways food for thought, hope everything works out in your favor.
ye dont worry mate, if somebody gets me the rego of this car, they definitely have a slab or bottle of their poison coming there way! and ye might do that, most blokes will probably tell me to f off, but worth a crack, cheers!
Unfortunately there seems to be more self-centred people around that ever before. My latest car lasted less than ten weeks until someone backed into it and did a runner. I don't know whether I can really complain this time as for my previous car, it was less than ten days. However, this time it was about a week after I observed a car back solidly into another one in a supermarket car pack. The driver looked like he was parking again, but once I turned my back I heard squealing tyres as he did a runner. Luckily I saw and remembered the number plate, and as I was writing a note to the owner of the damaged car, an off duty police officer came over and added her details to the note. She saw the event but did not get the number plate. We then waited for the owner to make sure that he knew what to do. That's one low life who will have paid the price. Just thousands to go.
