probably because prebought stuff is too dear for some people. but with access to a welder and grinder, i was able to make a set with adjustable shocks for under $1000(minus labour and strut tops) coilover sleeves and spring tops = $160 from uk 350lb 8" springs = $150 from uk koni adjsutable front strut inserts = $600(i think retails around that) from toperformance swap out the adjustables and you'll save a few dollars. welding wasnt much involved, just welding the threaded sleeve to the strut housing, and i got shorter strut inserts, so theres a weld join hidden under the sleeve.
damn, you make those? nice :thumbsup: i know you can buy a kit somewhere in aus to convert standard struts to coil over much like in the pic above. not cheap though. can't beat a coil over setup for handling
sorry to hijack but why do coilovers handle better than a standard setup? obviously its the design but what part of it makes it superior?
