Help Need to know if Trans mechanic has ripped me 4HDD changed to 5HDD 94 VR

    I have got the transmission mechanic to swad a 4hdd trans to a 5hdd the engine lights on after a litle while he used the diagnostics and it came up slipping this trans was working fine in our old vr series 2 the one we are using now is a 94 series when i drive it it revs upto 1750 rpm at 60 kph - 80 kph he reckons that you can upgrade your transmission but you cant use an older gearbox in a newer one eg a 4hdd cant go into a 5hdd but you can put a 5hdd into a 4hdd i have posted before but i cant get a proper answer please someone advise me what to do i just spent 300 dollars him doing the job i wouldnt watse money putting a non working box in thanks for reading

    throwing that code due to the tc not locking up properly as it's a 13 pin box with a 12 pin harness and pcm.

    now for the dodgy repair,

    1870 Fix - 4L60E "TCC Mod" 95/6 -> 94 also fixes P1870 - Chevrolet Impala SS Forum : Chevy Impala SS Forums

    97 4L60E bolt directly into a 95 car? - LS1TECH post #3 has images of where to mod
    also replace the 3-2 control solenoid and internal wiring harness (or bend the pins on the solenoid) and it'll work normal and stop throwing the code

    using a set of car ramps and give the trans a service (drain, new filter and fluid) and while you're doing that with the pan off tackle the fix, it shouldn't take more than an extra 20 mins if you're reasonably mechanically minded..
