Out side door handles as those who are into these will no that there should be a even gap that separtes the handle and the container it sits in..

and when it opens it should clear the container.

Just after painting the handles. - i noticed the gap is now un even which has caused the freshly painted handle to chip on right side (refer picture and see the un even gap)

There is no adjustment to fix this so what do you do??..

I have put in a new door handle to test with a new pin that holds it and gap is still un-even

    any help please thanks guys.

I dont think there is a way to adjust them, but someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I would suggest just taking the handle out, file that corner down a bit then re-paint it.

and what part causes it considering i did fit a new handle with pin locater (To Test) but gap is still un-even

cause would be age and wear.... possibly isn't seated in the pivot properly or simply worn after 15ish years of use

Ok there are 3 parts to this assembly - the door handle which as i said is new i fitted as a test and is still doing same thing so now it cant be the pivot.

The remaining parts are is the seal which i presume stops water - hence no water coming in the inside of the door.

Lat part is the container where the door handle slides in - refer to photo part (1)

Then i dont see how the container would have wear in it?..
as there are no moving parts.

so what can cause this handle to be lifting on one end ?.

after a few months i finally sorted this out , it was the rods that drop down fom the door handle which unlocks the car ,
    and the tension spring.

thanks for coming back with the solution you found. It will help others. Did you simply have to adjust the rods or were there parts to replace? cheers

    I replaced number (7)
    Replaced number (3)
    Replaced number (27)

When number 7 is worn along with 27

This causes the door handle to sit one side up high.

Most people are saying its the handle istself which its not.

    Hope this helps thanks.
