hey all, thanks for letting me join. just after a bit of advice. what is an alright price for a vy berlina with 112,000klms? and is that a high amount of k's for its age? and what would be better out that or a vx s2 calais with a bit less k's? my situation is that i have about $12000-14000MAX to spend on a car. whats the best choice of car for that amount?
my VX (2002 modle) has 123,000kms on it so id say if its a series 1 VY its ok. but if its series 2 its been driven a bit.
Hey Mate My VY commodore has just hit 84 000, and its a series 1 so yeah, though 112 000 is that much either, it should have plenty of life left in it, if its hasnt been trashed and not been serived, though yeah for 12 - 14k i would be leaning towards a VY if i was you mate. For the VY berlina i wouldnt be paying more than 14k for it.
There was a 2002 VY V6 Berlina Sedan with 99,000 km sold privately just up the road from me last week for just over $12,000. If the car you are looking at is a series 1 model than 112,000 km is not too high for its age. I agree with HoldenMan7 if I had 12 - 14k to spend I would be leaning towards a VY and I would be going for a VY Berlina over a VX II Calais.
thanks for the replys. the car im looking at is a 2003 so i think its series 1? i can get it for about 13,300 but its due for rego soon
alright i have one more question. would a vz exec in excellent condition, full log books, just been serviced and has 6 months rego for $13,750 be alright with 102,000ks? Here are some pics vzexec1.jpg vzexec2.jpg vzexec3.jpg vzexec4.jpg
Hey Mate If your looking at getting an VZ executive for $13 750 i would take it mate, here in WA there still selling for 18K + though there with about 60000 - 80 000 on the clock, if that VZs been serviced all the time and its seems to be in very good nick, i would offer 13 000 and go from there, if he doesnt take 13K, go 13 250, and just keep working your way up until he takes it.... Seems like a good buy IMO... Are they county k's ??? (on the VZ)
The price sounds good, if the car has been well looked after I wouldn't worry to much about the kilometers. If you are serious about buying the car I would suggest that you get the car checked over by whatever the RAA is in your state, they will be able to tell you if the car is worth the money and if it has any problems that will need to be fixed. Oh and the car isnt white so that a big plus :yeah:
thanks for the help guys. they wanted 14000 for it originaly, i got it down to 13750 with a full tank of fuel so i have left a deposit and im picking it up on thursday.
