Hey everyone i just got pacemakers fitted to my vx v6 and its sounding really lumpy and backfires a lil when i plant my foot until it reaches about 3000rpm then it roars and sounds great!

    is this normal?!

when i baby it it doesnt sound lumpy or even if i baby it to 1500-2000 rpm then floor it. But if i floor it from stationary it will shudder a bit and struggle to get moving then it'll reach 3000 and go

i dont think its engine issues because the engine has never had any other problems and has only done 65000 k's

the only engine mods are the pacemakers into metal high flo cat into 2.5" catback with no rear muffler

    help!!!!,

my car sounds dodgy and when i do plant it from 0 it feels like its tearing the zorst apart

change your spark plugs.... cos if you cracked one or 2 of them it will run badly....

bet its a leaking exhaust gasket! the reason it will be running rough is because it has a loss of back pressure @ idle whereas once it opens up the leak will allow the gasses to escape quicker and thats why it sounds good and probably goes good to:D

it sounds like the o2 sensors are giving wrong readings. check the smell of the exhaust at idle. they usually smell a bit fuelly, if not then its the same problems i had with mine. new o2 sensor fixed mine.

Check that the leads have been put back correctly.

id probly just start and idle for 10 secs or so to reset the ecu, never hurts to try, even after my clutch was replaced the car ran wierd.

Disconnecting the positive battery terminal for 10 seconds will reset the ECU.
