Hi, just purchased car has the airbag light on. Safety Cert mechanic checked and said fault is open circuit on drivers and passengers front airbags. Told need to replace both airbags. 2006 VZ v6. Any advice appreciated, thanks

I'd be looking at the clock spring first. That will give the same error. After replacing the clock spring, you will need to reset the light with a scan tool.

Why would you buy a car with no RWC?

Another super helpful response that directly addresses the problem at hand.

Could be for any number of reasons - i.e. came from interstate where they don't need to be sold with one (and even if they did, the interstate cert wouldn't count for anything anyway).

There is no such thing as RWC in Qld.
A Safety Certificate is required only if the vehicle is sold registered

Not an Abba Fans reply works for me as I have seen this same thing before.
