I found the perfect car way... way..way under my perfect price range, a 2002 VX for next to pittance and only 70,000 KMS.

It's an executive though, but it has some acclaim options (added airbags etc)

I've just come from driving a Fairmont Ghia (Yah, I saw the light) and I really miss the power windows YEAH, I'm a snobby type.

Anyway, I was hoping who could tell me.

1, How much would it cost to put in some power windows (preferably genuine Holden ones)

    2. Where in the hell do i find the kit to do it

3, Who to do it ... should I give it a go myself, or should i just get someone else to do it ?

Ohh, and also, climate control... is it just a matter of plugging the unit into an existing connection or is it ten times more complicated ?

I recently installed power windows myself and it cost me about $300 all up buying the parts second hand on ebay. They often have them on ebay. I can't say how much the parts would be new from Holden. I already had the wiring and connector under the console and the wiring for the fuse and relays was also there. I had to replace the door looms for ones for power windows. So if you have the wiring in place the job will be easier. If not you may also need a new BCM and the extra looms.
As for climate control, that has been discussed here many times and the general opinion is that it is too much trouble and expense. You need extra sensors, different heater box, the dash has to come out and other things I can't remember. Do a search to find out more.

There are 2 screws, 1 either side of the cigarette lighter plug ( the bottom one if you have 2 plugs ) undo those and then lift the console from the other end and pull it up. It is held in by clips.
