Anyone know how to remove these couplings. The same couplungs are used for my fuel lines and trans cooler hoses.

Too effing hard !!! I left them attached when I had to take the blower off.

You need a special tool and you also need to depressurise the fuel lines.

But even after it was depressurised I still couldn't get them off.

Use the lid of a decent pen... Cut the top off the top and then slice it down one side so it's like a tube with a slit in one side. Clip it over the fuel rail and then push it into the connector and it's meant to disenguage the connector...(bullshit)... anyway thats what a workshop manual recommends.

Why do you want to take it off for ?

Anyway the proceedure before working on the fuel system is to start the car let it run then take the fuel relay out (relay box on drivers side in engine bay) and let it run out of juice and stall... then crank it over with the key a few times.

You can buy a tool to undo the quick release couplings from SuperCheap or others for under $10. All new cars have them so really its a 'must have' tool that will pay for itself.

Thanks guys. So thats what my Gregory's is talking about with the pen lid. Might look into one of those tools from supercheap if they're only $10. I was curious because Sixshooter, as you would know the trans cooler hoses are the same coupling and I want to do a service on the auto. I drain much of the old fluid by removing the send hose and starting the car and then draining into an oil pan. I did this on my previous vs and works a treat. Less mess when you drop the pan.

Sixshooter, tell me something... why did you need to remove the blower? ...and where can we find pics and details of your car?

I removed the blower as I needed to replace the gaskets between the head and manifold...

I've no digital camera to take pics thats why there's no detail of my car up.

    PM sent !
