Hello, I am wondering if someone could help me, I have a 1989 VN Berlina Wagon I am trying to get to pass roadworthy, the mechanic says he wont pass it because it has no rear break light in the middle, on the glass. I said it has never had one and has passed many times before, he says because you can see where it was meant to be (paint work on the glass) it should have one... I don't think this model ever did??? any advice? anyone know if it should have one or not? anywhere I can find info to prove to him it shouldn't have one?? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide
vn doesnt have 1 but iv seen some that do have it there is a berlina at the wrekers that has it and thats the first 1 i noticed.. i recon you should just take it to a differant place to get a road worthy
Why have you paid $120 for a RWC? Here in NSW they are about $40 tops, and by rights every other State should be less... Perhaps the glass was smashed and replaced with anther wagons tail gate glass that had a Tail light on it?
They average is around $60 here but I do child care from home and it would have cost me $250 to have a day off work so I had a mobile mechanic come do it. That's what I'm thinking about it being new glass but he wont sign off without proof the car shouldn't have one. "All cars now a days have one" "Dude its 22 years old!"
Even some of the really really early sedans didn't have one! I'm pretty sure in one of my manuals it says ' where fitted' in regards to the high mount stop light.
The ss didnt have them and some s packs. But with berlina i think they should. I have one brake light out of the car im wrecking atm vq statesman it should fit make an offer im happy to post to save you going to wreckers cheers Travis
WooHoo He just agreed that there is no residue, no molding, no wires, and no mention of it it in the hand book and passed it without one! Thanks for your help! She is being picked up this afternoon, Im going to miss her!
