HELP! What transmission could/will fit a 07 ve sv6?

My transmission has recently shat its self in my 2007 VE SV6 Holden. Ive been looking around for a M82 transmission (the type of gearbox currently in the car) and finding it hard to find one at a price I can afford.

Just wondering if any other gearbox's would fit? like a 6 speed?

Also, I'm aware that having an under powered gearbox in a high powered engine will cause issues.

Engine: Ly7 High output
Current gearbox: M82 (5l40e) 5 speed auto
Car: 2007 VE SV6

Just keep scouring the wreckers for the proper gearbox. There were stacks of VE's made so it shouldn't take too long to come across one at a reasonable price.

It would cost you more in money, time and effort to fit a non-standard box anyway.
