help with taking rear seats out

can someone tell me how to take the rear seats out of my vr statesman to get to the parcel shelf???

you shouldnt need to! are you just installing speakers?

yeah, just installing speakers, 6x9's though so i have to cut it to fit em in

its a ****er hey. u gotta apply a pressure just in the right place on each side of the seat n then push to get release it.. real hard to explain took me ages to work it out.

Reach into the space between the rear seat (horizontal part) and the seat back (vertical part). Pull the back of the rear seat upwards and towards you until it is clear of the seat back. Do each side separately. You can then detach the rear seat from the catches at the front of the seat on each side. You can then undo the bolts and take off the seat back.
