Hi all,i got a VP on the road a few months ago and has been going great but is starting to play up a bit.Can you help?
Its a VP2 V6 dual fuel and has a VN ser 1 memcal. Now the engine light has been coming on and off,it is loosing coolant after parked(even after replacing rad cap),missus says it has made some sort of squeeling noise on start up(has new belt)but not always, only did it the other day.Now i know its has a head gasket problem as im getting some sludge on the rubber on the radiator cap.
    Any ideas?

well theres a good chance the engine light is going on and off from the chip...........it did in my vp..........as for the coolant check your radiator hoses connections make sure they are done up tight or there just may be a split in the hosing or a leak somewhere (obviously).............

Well you just said you have a head gasket problem, I suggest your main loss of coolant will be through this. The engine light im not too sure of but I'd say being aware of a blown head gasket and not fixing it is your best bet for future problems. So, go fix it!

Havnt checked code but drove it myself and found out whats up i think.Noise on some start up sounds like the ignition is staying on after starting(like you havnt turned the key back)and stopped when the temp creeped up popped the bonnet and found coolant pissing out from behind where the coil pack is.I couldnt see in there but i dont think there are any hoses in that area appart from the bottom rad hose and its much higher than that.My guess is that its leaking from the head where it meets the block.

found the water leak,it is from the bottom rad hose, was too hot before to have a good look but have now found it hiding behind a wiring loom.
